Biography 

 

Charles Gauthier was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, but he has lived most of his life in Saint Louis, Missouri. Charles first arrived on the Saint Louis art scene when he opened a gallery and studio in Midtown Saint Louis in 2004. He sold his own work out of the gallery and held weekly events in the studio teaching adults figure drawing and formal painting techniques for beginners.

 

Gauthier enjoys painting, sculpting, drawing, and furniture design, but his B.F.A. and M.F.A. are both in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has painted murals in several cities including one for the summer Olympics in Atlanta. His oil paintings can be seen in the major motion picture, Say Goodnight, and his light sculptures can be seen in store fronts around Downtown Saint Louis. 

 

Today Charles still lives and works in Saint Louis with his wife, daughter, and son.
